Committees

Why join a committee?

New ideas for your own agency ... networking with other agents and owners ... the first to know about association news ... a chance to weigh in on new services that members need ... the ability to shape the future of our industry. These are just a few of the reasons why independent agents across the state choose to get involved on a KAIA committee. Joining a committee is a terrific opportunity for new and experienced agents to learn more about the association and help direct how the association can best serve member agencies like yours.

Who is eligible to serve on a committee?

Any agent working for a KAIA member agency is eligible to serve on a committee. New agents, experienced agents, agency staff and principals who are willing to offer their ideas and feedback are encouraged to volunteer.

What are the responsibilities?

Most committees meet two or three times per year either at the KAIA office in Topeka, by conference call or in conjunction with a KAIA event, such as the Management Conference or Rural & Small Agents Conference. Committee members are also encouraged to attend events related to their committee’s specific focus, i.e. members of the Government Affairs Committee are encouraged to participate in the Kansas Agents Legislative Day. KAIA reimburses committee members for travel expenses related to committee meetings and functions.

How do I volunteer?

Contact the KAIA office at 1-800-229-7048 or info@kaia.com to let us know you would like to serve and which committees are of interest to you.
